Frequently Asked Questions

  • The Soma filter is designed to process 40 gallons of water. For most customers, that's 2 months of usage. This is why our Fresh Filter program delivers new replacement filters every 60 days.

  • The Soma carafe is 10.7 inches tall and 6.5 inches in diameter. A perfect fit for almost every refrigerator! The carafe holds about six 8-ounce glasses of water.

  • Replacement filters cost $12.99, which includes free shipping. As a Soma customer, you receive a fresh filter in the mail 60 days so you always have pure water. You may pause or cancel your fresh filter subscription at any time.

  • When you purchase Soma, you are automatically enrolled in our Fresh Filter program. This sends replacement filters to your home every two months, and costs less than a quarter a day. If you have a Soma carafe but no filters, you can enroll here.

  • The Soma filter is made of coconut shell carbon, silk, and a BPA-free, biodegradable plant-based casing.

  • On average, you can fill your entire Soma (about six 8-oz. glasses of water) in five minutes or less. The Soma filter was designed to balance efficacy and speed. Filtration occurs when the coconut shell carbon has enough contact time to absorb contaminants. That's why we designed the Soma filter to be patient enough to be effective, while also being fast enough so you're not kept waiting.
